Ferenc Széchenyi medallion was awarded to "in domestic respect members of half a century of membership, in foreign context serves to recognize a numismatist merits or who have expressed a scientific activity to the Hungarian numismatics, and worked effectively on the enhancing of Hungarian numismatics reputation, finally, rewarding to the management of the international numismatic organizations." The 63 mm diameter cast bronze medal is a work of József Reményi.
